If you are a bottle of wine a night like we are, that little indulgence after a long day can add up quickly. While I love combining wine with cheese, chocolate, and a good dinner, I also love a good bargain. Enter, Member's Mark Cabernet Sauvignon from Sam's Club. We are both Cab Sauv lovers, so when we gave this little gem a try, it instantly became a favorite.
Now, you might be thinking, this little number is sponsored. Nope, not one bit. I am a firm believer in sharing the wealth when it comes to smart buys that taste or work well. We have tried a few others from Sam's Club and they didn't hit the "mark" like this one did. Sam's Club Member's Mark Cab Suav is from Paso Robles, CA. That alone right there peaked my interest when l looked at the different bottles on the aisle. We are big fans of Paso and their selection of wines. Huge. Residents from there will tell you that there is something about the soil that makes their wines deliciously delectable. Out in California we have Napa, Sonoma, Temecula, and Paso Robles. Every time, we catch ourselves making those treks up north to Paso over the others. Sure, its five hours north of us, and Temecula is only forty-five minutes south, however there is something about Paso's wines that keep bringing us back. Perhaps that is why I love this wine so much.
Member's Mark normally comes in under $8 a bottle. Honestly, it tastes like a $20 bottle to us. It's soft, velvety, not too dry, and has a hint of sweetness. The back label describes the wine having rich flavors of black cherry and plum, with hints of leather, vanilla, and oak. I don't know about you, but when I read anything with cherry, I always think of that horrid cough syrup we had to drink as kids. Not the case here. The subtle notes from each flavor dance delicately on the tongue and pair wonderfully with your salty, savory, and sweet. I've had this wine with cheese, chocolate, nuts, and dinners ranging from steak to pasta. This Cab Sauv isn't complex. It's simple and easy going, and a trustworthy bargain companion to many meals.
So with that, I say, drink and be merry and watch that pocketbook! This Cab Sauv is a tasty bargain that delivers complimentary taste to any snack or meal. As someone who drinks this wine regularly and considers it a weekly "treat", I haven't been let down yet. If you have a membership to Sam's Club, stop by and pick up a bottle. Maybe its because its from Paso, or maybe its because its a Cab Sauv, either way, I always find my self reaching for this when I walk down the aisles. Give it a try and you might just be pleasantly surprised.
